May
24th, 2006 Tracey met with
Susan
Muldoon
on May 24th, 2006 for her third and final session with a
personal trainer before the big reveal on June 9th.
Susan is a BCRPA certified personal trainer, as well as
being certified as a Third Age (Seniors) Instructor and
a Group Fitness Instructor. Susan has been involved in
the fitness industry for the past four years in the
Comox Valley and has been with Fitness Excellence for
almost three years.
During this session, Susan added some functional
exercises to Tracey's routine. These involve
combinations of exercises, some done using Tracey's own
body weight as resistance. Other strength exercises
where changed or added to challenge Tracey's muscles in
slightly different ways. This will continue to encourage
Tracey's strength gains, tone her muscles and help to
loose weight.
Tracey has been working really hard in the gym. She has
had to take some time off due to illness recently, but
is back at her routine with smiles and determination.
Her dedication and motivation are paying off for her and
she is a pleasure to work with. Keep smiling Tracey!
April,
2006: For Tracey's second training session at
Fitness Excellence she met with employee
Helen
Carter.
Helen is a certified personal trainer with B.C.R.P.A.
She is also certified to teach athletic core
conditioning and sports nutrition. Helen has been
personally involved in the fitness industry for over 15
yrs. Her fitness background is in advanced weight
training to increase strength and definition. Helen
specializes in core-conditioning for athletic
performance and sport specific plyometrics.
Tracey had adapted quickly to the routine she was doing
and was finding that she was beginning to plateau. It
was felt that in order for her to work harder-which she
felt she was ready to do- she would require exercises
that would push her to her maximum ability.
For Tracey's session with Helen, some new exercises were
added to her existing routine. The weights were
increased while decreasing the number of repetitions,
thus making it more of a muscle building and
strengthening routine. This helps to burn more fat and
calories throughout her day which in turn helps Tracey
to lose weight and achieve a more toned physique.
Tracey was very enthusiastic about the new routine and
liked the feeling of pushing her muscles to the max.
Keep up the good work Tracey!'
April
14, 2006: Here at Fitness Excellence our
personal training team will be guiding Tracey through
her fitness goals, both short term and long term. For
Tracey's first training session, she met with
Barb
Houle
who is a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer, Group
Exercise Instructor, and Third Age Instructor.
Barb also holds a diploma in Fitness and Nutrition, is a
AAHFRP Medical Exercise Specialist, and a Can Fit Pro /
Peter Twist Sports Strength / Sport Movement Specialist.
Barb has been in the fitness industry for 17 years and
has been at Fitness Excellence for over 6 years.
During Tracey's first training session we started with a
fitness assessment and a body composition. Using this
information, we developed a weekly training schedule.
Within this schedule, we set training goals for
cardiovascular, strength / endurance, and flexibility.
For cardiovascular exercise, we chose to cross train
using the treadmill, upright bike and the cross trainer
within a pre-set heart rate range for a determined
length of time. We then developed a strength training
gym program to build on a combination of personal
strength and endurance using free weights and machines.
To achieve balance we designed a stretching program for
flexibility. Tracey adapted very quickly to these
programs and we look forward to seeing her around the
gym.
March
25, 2006: Tracey has now been set up on her 12 week
personal training program at Fitness Excellence starting
with
Barb
Houle
who has been working in the fitness field for over 17
years.
Also
Helen Carter
and
Susan
Muldoon,
both trainers at FitEx will each be having a session
with Tracey in the near future. All three will work
together to assist Tracey in her quest to lose weight
and get in shape by designing a personalized program
that is right for her. For more info on our trainers

Keith
Wakelin
